The Senior Revenue Accountant participates as a member of the Revenue Accounting Team and plays a vital role to ensure the integrity of accounting information by timely and accurately preparing various accruals, analytics and account reconciliations used in the closing and reporting process. The Sr. Revenue Accountant is also responsible for overseeing all facets of production taxes, including but not limited to, monthly accruals, state filings and renditions, remittance of production tax withholdings and payment of estimates, etc.. The Sr. Revenue Accountant is a key participant in the period and year-end closing and audit process.

Prepare and analyze monthly accruals associated with production taxes such as ad valorem and severance taxes; also ensure timely payment of withholdings, estimates, and assessments;
Prepare or assist in preparation of monthly account reconciliations;
Prepare or assist in the various analytics associated with revenue distribution and production tax activity;
Review or monitor suspended revenue payments and compliance with state escheat reporting and remittance requirements;
Work with the Revenue Accounting Manager to create more efficient processes and procedures and identify opportunities to streamline current processes;
Assist in the external and internal audit processes by providing support for journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and fluctuation analyses, etc.;
Oversee year-end tax processes including 1099s, K-1s and DR21Ws;
Assist with the overall Revenue Distribution processing and cutbacks process;
Assist with partnership distributions, reporting requirements and various projects associated with winding down the partnerships;
Regularly and effectively communicate with internal personnel in other offices or functions, as well as with personnel from other operators or third parties;
Work on or lead complex projects on a team or independent basis;
Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The minimum level of education, experience, and certifications required to perform the job.
Bachelors of Science in Accounting;
5 years progressive general accounting and/or finance experience, with a preference for oil and gas industry experience;
CPA preferred but not required.
