Gas Settlement Analyst
Our client, a top international Oil & Gas firm, is currently seeking a Gas Settlement Analyst IV
for a 7 month contract
, located in Houston, TX

Responsibilities for this position include the below;
The primary purpose of the Settlement Analyst role is to settle third party and intercompany commodity related trades in a timely an accurate manner. Additionally, the Settlement Analyst will actualize and reconcile volumes ensuring inventory volumes reflected in company accounts match with third party statements. The role is accountable for timely and accurate creation of invoices, generation of payments, pipeline, truck, and storage volume actualization, monthly close journal entries and reconciliations, as well as frequent interaction with customers, traders and other members of the Settlements team.
Accountable for the accurate and timely completion of Settlements activities
Generate customer invoices and supporting documentation
Settle all deals agreed by traders and deal makers
Ensure funds are received and paid on time and accurately; liaise with counterparties should any discrepancies occur
Reconcile volumes against pipeline or 3rd party statements; work with operators and counterparties to resolve volume discrepancies
Providing accurate details of projected cash flows to enable BP Treasury to manage daily and weekly cash requirements.
Provide exceptional customer service in order to build and strengthen relationships
Pro-actively seek opportunities to standardize, simplify and automate processes to improve performance and efficiency as well as address underlying root causes
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of the performance measurements reported
Provide support in response to internal/external audits and litigation
Coordinate with Tax Services in collecting tax exemption certificates where needed
Complete and support special projects as assigned
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor Degree coupled with 3 years’ experience within the Oil & Gas Industry managing settlement activities, holding strong understanding of settlement processes. Ideally will have experience reconciling volumes, inventory, and generating payments, monthly close journal entries and reconciliations. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with SAP, SolArc RightAngle is a plus. Good understanding of internal controls sought.
