ABB is seeking a FCU /RTU International Business Development Manager who will be responsible for understanding the full oil & gas value chain from wellhead to customer delivery and identifying market opportunities and target growth countries for the Upstream Oil & Gas flow computer / RTU controller product line, inclusive of solutions encompassing the entire ABB portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be technically knowledgeable, well-spoken and have experience planning & implementing growth strategies in a global organization; in addition to being driven to succeed in meeting and exceeding our customers needs and winning FCU / RTU Controller business for ABB.

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Responsibility - Identify market opportunities in each Hub by country (outside of US & Canada) for Flow computer (FCU)/RTU Controller products. Includes identifying product solution scope to address market, collaboration with Local Business Units to address channel limitations or needs, coordinate necessary training for sales and/or service and summarize product development or certification requirements necessary to address opportunities. Coordinate with Product Manager(s) to agree on Target countries for development and ensure that there are plans in place with these countries to develop business over 1-3-5 years.

* Goal - Develop an annual growth plans for development of FCU/RTU Controller product sales, as well as the overall application of the High Accuracy Flow portfolio to the Upstream / Midstream market globally. Plan to be approved by senior level management and then work directly with the LBUs to execute to target every year.

* Market analysis - Monitor market trends and recommend adjustments to the FCU/RTU controller growth strategy and plans accordingly to meet changing market and competitive landscapes. Provides appropriate market information for long- to mid-term decision making.

* Marketing - Communicates the LBUs, Channels and/or End user value proposition for the FCU and RTU products (internally and externally) and the overall solution to meet the market opportunity. Identifies and coordinates plans to address communication, promotion and training activities in the segment.

* Targets - Create business plans with LBUs that are used to create annual orders budgets and coordinates with regular follow-up to ensure these targets are met or exceeded for Flow Computers and RTUs.

* Account management - Works with LBUs or Channels to identify key accounts for target countries. Coordinates with Global Account Managers, Strategic Account Managers or Upstream Oil & Gas team in the US on accounts that cross country borders.

* Customer relationship - Builds and maintains strong relationships with the key customers in the target countries. Follows up ABBs performance in fulfilling their needs and communicates deficiencies and/or opportunities to the respective Business Units/Product Managers.

* Risk - Identifies and manages potential risks relating to contract agreements and prices across segments.

* Reporting - Reports by Hub & Country to accurately measure progress and uses common tools to identify future opportunities.


Basic qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree and 8 years of technical or sales experience.

Preferred qualifications:

-Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business and 8 years of Business Development experience in the oil and gas industry.

* Good time/activity and priority management skills

* Excellent verbal, written and communication & presentation skills

* Strong willingness to learn and passion for success

* Solid understanding of Flow Computers and RTUs, flow metering (liquids and gas), as well as an understanding of shutdown logic and well optimization. Functional knowledge of instrumentation including but not limited to pressure/temperature transmitters, level measurement, mag meters and coriolis desired.

* Leverage any existing relationships in the industry to bring new selling opportunities to ABB

* Ability to design solutions particular to the customers needs while driving ABB products into the solution.

* Competitor knowledge; Passion for winning.

* Resilience to overcome challenges.

* Obsessive focus on end users, their wants and needs, their goals and objectives, how they buy, how they maintain their equipment, how they partner with suppliers.

* Ability to develop relationships at all levels in ABB, our channel partners and our end users.
