Position Description
This posting is for an Operations Specialist (plant operator) with a hiring range based on experience and skill set. The position will be rotating 12 hour daytime/nighttime shift schedule including weekends and holidays. The Altamont Operations Specialist serves a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operations of the Altamont gas processing plant. Responsibilities include operations of the gas processing plant, and overseeing safe operation of truck loading facility.
The Altamont Gas Plant employs a multitude of processes which include, gas processing, produced gas, separation of NGLs including Propane, Butane, Natural Gasoline, and Condensate. The process equipment includes pumps, H2S treating, Glycol Dehydration, Engine/ Compressor sets, Refrigeration equipment, and gas fired heater. Control valves, piping, pigging facilities and other associated infrastructure. Production vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases and liquids which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances.
Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to, walk up and down stairs/ladders, negotiate uneven surfaces, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and be able to work 12 hour shifts days and nights.
Position Requirements
Promote the Company's EHS philosophy and culture, and assist in compliance with OSHA PSM requirements.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
Requires working 12 hour daytime/nighttime rotating shifts including evenings and holidays.
Must live within 30 minutes driving of the Altamont Gas Plant to be able to respond to call outs during plant upsets or when required.
Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
Monitoring of plant equipment to meet regulatory requirements.
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. policies and procedures.
May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, and reach with hands and arms.
Operation of gas processing, treating, and compression equipment, to make on spec products such as, sales gas, Propane, Butane, Natural Gasoline, and Condensate.
Operations of gas processing equipment through Allen Bradley HMI, including monitoring for alarms, adjusting set points, and maintaining tank levels.
Working with Mechanics and E&C Technicians on troubleshooting, and maintenance of plant equipment.
Shutdown and startup of equipment (pumps, compressors, facilities, other equipment, etc.)
Lockout and Tagout duties for maintenance work.
Interact with company and contract personnel, including ensuring contractors are working to safety policies and procedures.
Complete all appropriate documentation.
Provide oral and written communication of activities to appropriate personnel.
Write Maintenance Work Orders as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:


Solid safety and environmental practices.
Basic math and computer skills.
Proficiency level with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Must be a self-starter with a high drive for results.
Must have good time management skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks at same time.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience analyzing and maintaining controls and valves.
Background in natural gas gathering, condensate production equipment and gas processing plant operations.
Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets.
Education:
High School Diploma, or equivalent.
