Lead Electrical Engineer

CNPC USA is actively seeking creative, innovative, best-in-class experts to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Measurement Lead. The right candidate will be responsible for new product development, customer interface, project management and leading less experienced employees within the department.
The Measurement Lead will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
Compensation Range: DOE
Partner with senior management to achieve company's development, operational and business strategy
Lead electrical system architecture design for logging while drilling and RSS products
Design, develop and build high temperature and high shock resistant electronic circuits for downhole use
Coordinate fabrication and installation and testing activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and
Provide technical support to manufacturing and final assembly as it relates to electrical systems
Document design and qualification as part of engineering project process
Interface with customers on Repair and Maintenance
Conduct all business activities in accordance with CNPC USA core values.
Adheres to and is an advocate of CNPC USA PDC process ensuring cross-functional workflow and communications
Oversee and direct key areas of project engineering per: Statement of Requirements, Basis of Design, Engineering and Industry standards, Environmental requirements and current contract deliverables.
Develop, update and report on detailed execution plans for all phases of the project, including clear deliverables, timeline, resource allocations, budget and variance risk and mitigation plan.
Establish project teams with appropriate qualifications and resources to manage the projects.
Provide project management, technical oversight and budgetary control over Measurements projects portfolio
Participate in long-term future concept design and engineering studies to make appropriate and structured projects proposals.
Remain abreast of current technological progress ensuring products remain marketable and competitive.
Identify novel technical concepts and markets and introduce new technologies to Engineering.
Coach and mentor less experienced engineers to ensure appropriate technical development
Provide technical advice to the Engineering for both US and China operations.
Conduct After Action Reviews of projects to document, improve and direct root cause analysis and the corrective action processes.
Develop, protect and maintain company's intellectual property, making confidentiality a top priority.
Utilize technical writing skills in support of engineering reports and documentation.
Operate as go-to person for solving engineering-related issues.
Strong in both analog and digital design
LWD tool development experience is preferred
Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with onshore unconventional and offshore drilling environments.
Strong knowledge of Rotary Steerable System or LWD system and downhole tool integrated designs.
Understands horizontal integration nature of the drilling and completion process.
Ability to deal with complex client relationship issues.

Proven ability to deliver results on time, on target, with quality and sustainability.

Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field, and five plus years of related R&D experience in the oil and gas industry.
Legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and the ability to lift 20lbs and bend is required.
This position requires overnight international and domestic travel. Local travel between other CNPC USA locations is required.
This position manages all employees of the Measurement department and assists the Drilling Director in performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.
