American Midstream Partners, LP is a growth-oriented limited partnership formed to provide critical midstream infrastructure that links producers of natural gas, crude oil, NGLs, condensate and specialty chemicals to end-use markets. American Midstream’s assets are strategically located in some of the most prolific onshore and offshore basins in the Permian, Eagle Ford, East Texas, Bakken and Gulf Coast. American Midstream owns or has an ownership interest in approximately 4,000 miles of interstate and intrastate pipelines, as well as ownership in gas processing plants, fractionation facilities, an offshore semisubmersible floating production system with nameplate processing capacity of 100 MBbl/d of crude oil and 240 MMcf/d of natural gas; and terminal sites with approximately 6.7 MMBbls of storage capacity.


Objective
This position will be responsible for managing a team and related day to day processes associated with all accounting functions pertaining to the recording and reporting of all transactions involving the gathering, processing and transporting of natural gas, natural gas liquids, condensate and crude oil for all assets and reporting the monthly gross margin for each asset.
Primary Responsibilities




  • Accountable for all operational accounting functions including Revenue, gas and crude oil marketing, and imbalances for all regulated and unregulated pipelines


  • Manages the monthly accounting close process, which includes reviewing monthly journal entries, regulatory reporting, accrual to actual account reconciliations


  • Responsible for the timely preparation of the AR aging, and presentation of it weekly to Upper Management.


  • Analyzes margin account variances, key operating statistics, price/volume variances and operating results monthly.


  • Answers and resolves internal and external customer inquiries, including audit inquiries


  • Assist in the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting


  • Ensures transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed and supported in accordance with company policies and controls.


  • Manage and supervise accounting staff; and actively participates in the development and coaching of staff members to provide appropriate advancement opportunities


  • Other duties as assigned






Working Conditions




  • The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position include


    • Physical requirements of this position are:






      • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met




    • The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception and field vision for this position include:




      • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading;




    • The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position include:




      • None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)




  • Approximately 15% of anticipated travel






Education and Qualifications




  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Masters of Accountancy or MBP preferred.


  • Midstream Experience required.


  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.


  • Minimum ten or more years related business experience and five years of supervisory experience required; Oil and gas industry experience preferred.


  • Advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and ability to apply those principles to new and existing transactions.


  • Must have extensive knowledge of difficult accounting concepts and procedures and the ability to apply to daily activities.


  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.


  • Ability to motivate team to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects required.


  • Advanced analytical skills required.


  • Requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule.


  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth oriented environment.
