We are looking for a dynamic Oil & Gas Finance Manager to be based at our Katy, TX office!

The Oil and Gas Finance Manager - Contracts and Pricing will be responsible for leading and advancing contract management and pricing analysis efforts in O&G. This position will play a key role in all levels of customer contracts, including pricing proposals, performance tracking, customer communications, financial analysis and accounting. This role will report to the Oil and Gas Chief Financial Officer and will interact heavily with the O&G Business Teams.

Job Functions:

Lead customer contract management for the O&G Business

Develop comprehensive customer contract tracking tool to effectively track performance against commitments (such as price, volume, grade mix, location, product, etc.)

Work with Finance and Sales Leadership to develop effective customer communication strategy that enhances customer relationships and creates value for US Silica

Work with Business Teams, Credit and other Functional Leaders to help set and execute pricing strategy in accordance with Business goals

Drive correct understanding of all financial/accounting impacts of contracts and pricing, such as margin impact, month-end accruals, revenue recognition, calculation of penalties/shortfalls and forecasting

Develop and communicate contracts and pricing KPIs to Senior Leaders

Lead and support other critical FP&A efforts, such as month-end closing and analytics, SO&P process, investor relations and SEC filling activity

Any other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting

EXPERIENCE:

5 – 10 years of experience in finance/accounting in support of commercial teams

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Excellent communications skills, ability to help influence the organization

Ability to create accurate and complex models and analytics to drive business results

Effectively navigate systems and data to produce actionable reporting in a timely fashion

Ability to multitask, manage critical deadlines and adapt and prioritize in a dynamic work environment

Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including knowledge of accruals and journal entry preparation

Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required.

Overall understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, financial concepts, practices, and procedures as well as contemporary practices, metrics, and assessment tools

Continuous Improvement – Display a healthy discontent with status quo; gather information from various sources to perform multiple layers of data mining, to identify the area for improvement, and to generate options for solutions; demonstrates sound judgment in choosing a course of action

Communication – Can clearly and concisely express concepts both in writing and verbally to all levels of the organization and can demonstrate leadership influence on behavior of others

Organization – Strong skills required including the ability to coordinate the work and information gained from all resources; must possess the ability to handle several different projects or requests with a plan and structure, while keeping them as individual requirements

Creativity – Ability to develop new and unique approaches to new, existing, or traditional situations

Comprehension – Has ability to understand and interpret regulations, policies, and related technical information

Independent self-starter who can create own work plan and priorities without direct supervision; proactively accomplish tasks and communicate, not only react to requests

Demonstrate the highest ethical standards

Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to create financial models and complex spreadsheets quickly and without errors

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Experience in a data mining tool such as Tableau, Mini-Tab, or Access

Experience with Excel macros and advanced modelling

Experience with Commercial Teams

Experience in Oil and Gas industry
