**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. LP (CPChem) is seeking a Laboratory Technician for work in the Polymer Science Group of its Research & Technology (R&T) organization in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The Polymer Science Group engages in R&D activities in areas related to polymer compositions, polymer rheology, polymer processing, polymer additives & stabilization, and polymer finishing. This position will be in an area that supports a large cross-section of customers including various research groups at the R&T, the pilot plant, manufacturing plants, the technical service, and the product and application development.
Ensure the lab is in full compliance with all safety, environmental and health regulations and procedures.
Perform routine tests independently in the laboratory utilizing lab instruments/equipment.
Perform data gathering, charting, recording and archiving, transmittal to customers, on a regular and ongoing basis, and limited data analysis occasionally.
Calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment regularly as needed.
Upkeep, maintain, trouble-shooting and repair laboratory instruments and equipment.
Coordinate and oversee vendor service calls/services, and work with vendors in trouble-shooting as necessary.
Safeguard all laboratory test results via good bookkeeping and archiving practices.
Monitor the inventory of essential laboratory supplies. Timely order supplies and services in accordance to company policies and procedures.
High School diploma or GED
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision after initial on-the-job training.
Ability to trouble-shoot and maintain instruments/equipment
Excellent computing skills and a familiarity with Microsoft products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Associate or Bachelor degree
1 to 3 yearsâ€™ experience in a laboratory/research setting
A familiarity with one or more of the following polymer characterization techniques helps: MALS, DSC, DMA, TGA, TEM, SEM, AFM, FT-IR, Raman, NMR, solid-state NMR, SAXS, WAXS, rheometer, and extensometer.
Knowledge and experience in chromatography, especially in GPC and hyphenated GPC.
