Baker Hughes Incorporated has an opening for Wellbore Construction Application Engineer supporting Wellbore Construction as part of Global Products & Technology at our facility in Houston, TX. The Application Engineering job primarily focuses on technology support for operations districts around the world. This involves interacting with various engineering, reliability, and supply chain functions. Travel to Geomarkets is sometimes required, but the majority of support is provided from the Center for Technology Innovation (CTI) in Houston, TX.
· Provide technical support to the Geomarkets for Wellbore Construction tools.
· Updating and reviewing changes to Wellbore Construction global documents.
· Lead Geomarket applications engineers in their product and applications prioritization and work in alignment with Global Product Line strategy.
· Collaborate with Geomarket Sales and Operations teams to develop and champion product design improvements.
· Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Revenue (NPR) efforts by training Sales, Operations, and Customers on new products and services.
· Assist with technical preparation of key Wellbore Construction tenders and bids.
· Handle special projects, as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience in Wellbore Construction Operations or Engineering roles OR High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of Wellbore Construction operations experience
Thorough technical background in with focus on Wellbore Construction products, technologies, and installation.
Ability to solve substantially difficult problems of complex nature and broad scope.
Ability to create innovative approaches to problems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English.
Previous working experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Flexibility to travel (approx. 25%)
Able to use the available processes and software tools available in BHI for Wellbore Construction (TubeMove, SwellPREdictor, Torque & Drag, SAP, etc.)
Rig site experience with installation of Wellbore Construction products
Experience in District Engineering job role.
