Seeking candidates with experience in the pipeline industry to be part of the nation's leader in providing pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) consulting, evaluation and training services. This position is responsible for training and evaluating on OQ tasks in a classroom and hands-on settings in Veriforce, EWN, MEA, ITS. This candidate must be able to work independently and travel when necessary. Assist Hazardous Liquids and Natural Gas business units with qualification and training of personnel performing DOT regulated pipeline covered tasks, in compliance with federal and applicable state pipeline safety regulatory requirements, in a cost-effective and efficient manner with minimal impact on business units' processes or resources.
Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:
Prepare, organize and submit OQ task documentation
Classroom and hands-on instruction
Adhere to Company's Compliance process and uphold the Company's Core Values
5 years in pipeline industry, related work experience.
OQ Evaluator qualification, desired within 6 months.
Excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills including, email and MS Office.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or other training related certification is preferred
A minimum of 5 yrs. work experience in the hazardous liquids or natural gas industry may be accepted as a substitute for a degree or certification
Minimum 2 yrs. work experience (with bachelor's degree) or 5yrs. (without a bachelor's degree) in the natural gas pipeline operations or hazardous liquids pipeline operations or business.
Knowledge of and work experience with DOT part 192 and 195
Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve complex training and employee issues/problems is required
Proven communication and presentation skills, oral and written, with ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and personalities at all levels internally and outside the organization
Ability to work with a team, take direction from a supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules and adhere to work schedules.
Strong proficiency level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is a must
Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, and maintain confidentiality
Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal direct supervision
Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict and sometimes short deadlines
Most work will be done in an office, but visits to field locations in varying environmental conditions are possible.
Traveling weekly with crew.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and/or field knowledge preferred but not limited to: Pipeline installation and maintenance, corrosion maintenance, coating application and maintenance, cathodic protection systems, pressure regulating, location and line marking, excavating and back-filling, welding and atmospheric monitoring, inspection and valve maintenance. Highly proficient in gas operation and station work procedures
Previous OQ knowledge/experience
Must be able to work independently while demonstrating strong leadership qualities and integrity to document control, handling and process criteria.
Ability to organize and administer project QMS approach
Employees in this position will demonstrate knowledge of the OQ Law.
Communication and PC skills are essential, Microsoft Office, Excel, PPT, Access.
Associate or Bachelor's Degree desired
Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) experience and project management skills desired
Minimum of one year of relevant Quality Supervisor field work experience preferred, with work history references who can be contacted during the interview process
Successful interpersonal communication and meeting management skills.
Significant travel will be required.
This position may require the ability to work in an office setting and on active construction sites. This position includes, but is not limited to, significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces and, in general, is overall physically demanding.
